The AI4Good Lab project, jointly organized by Mila and the Public Policy Forum, held its Demo Day on June 26, marking the successful conclusion of the tenth phase of this machine learning talent development program for Canadian women and gender-diverse participants. This phase was held in Edmonton, Montreal, Toronto, and online; a total of 86 participants showcased 16 AI projects aimed at promoting social progress. Representatives from each region were selected to receive accelerator awards. Jennifer Addison noted that this project witnessed the transition from classroom learning to real-world applications, covering areas such as food safety prediction and accessible medical support. She emphasized that diverse voices and ethical rigor make AI a transformative force in removing barriers.
