Intel’s dynamic PAMT readiness has been incorporated into Linux 7.4, working together with RAMP-C and Microsoft’s AI initiatives to build a secure and efficient ecosystem
In September 2026, Intel announced that its dynamic PAMT (Physical Address Mapping Table) feature was ready and would be available with Linux 7.4 mainline. This feature aims to reduce memory overhead when building confidential virtual machines using Trusted Domain Extensions (TDX) and address memory efficiency issues in related scenarios. Previously, in July 2026, Intel completed the RAMP-C program, which optimized the performance of the Trusted Execution Environment through a software toolchain, provided compile-time security options and runtime monitoring mechanisms, supported more complex encryption operations, and reduced memory consumption, thereby enhancing data protection capabilities for enterprise applications. During the same period, Microsoft launched the “Building abundant intelligence” program in July 2026, aiming to make advanced artificial intelligence more capable, cost-effective, and widely available through a full-stack approach, focusing on improving AI performance and reducing costs to expand its application range.
Intel has completed the RAMP-C program, accelerating the development of Secure Enclaves. This program aims to optimize security performance through a software toolchain, including providing developers with compile-time security options and runtime monitoring mechanisms. As an extension of Intel SGX technology, RAMP-C will support more complex encryption operations and reduce memory overhead, thereby enhancing data protection capabilities for enterprise applications.
